Fader Requests

Post by Mivan »

Faders: No Major bugs/issues noted.
Requests:
- Adding the "as configured" names of the fixture and functions to the faders screen somewhere would be quite beneficial. Perhaps the names vertically as is the Boards module or even just their icons at the bottom with the channel numbers for the functions and the names vertically.
- Larger fader points since they are presently rather small targets to hit quickly with a mouse, at least for some of us.
- A few "Jump To Fixture Set(s)" buttons would be great, would save a lot of scrolling. Seems there is plenty of screen real estate available.

Thank you,

The module "Faders" is exclusively to give more confort for DMX fixtures addressing and eventually to create / check the profile of a DMX fixture. It does not know anything about the channels configuration in the rest of the software. So not easy to do this. We note this remark anyway.
We note also about enlarging the space between the sliders ; just note there will be less visible sliders on screen if we do that.

I'm trying to follow you there though am a bit confused, if it doesn't know anything about the Fixtures/Channels how is it aligning with the configured fixture channels in which to test?

If the end intention is primarily as a "test tool" perhaps just connecting it to fixtures similar to how the 2D view works or perhaps launched from a "Test" link in Fixtures would be handier as the channel information would be right there already and simplify the Burger button at the same time.

Clearly programming is not easy, I was not implying such. Merely conveying my thoughts as they occurred to me.

I did not mean to enlarge the space between the sliders, I meant the fader holds (buttons, knobs, or whatever you call them) themselves. The little blue (on my screen anyhow) dots above the channel numbers.

There is no alignement.
Fader #1 drives the DMX output #1.
Fader #2 drives the DMX output #2.
...
Fader #512 drives the DMX output #512.

Noted.
