Absolute dimensions of objects

Post by Azonata »

I am trying to make the switch from QuickDMX v9 to Lightning Controller II. In this process I'm trying to recreate the 3DView of the theater in which we use the software. One thing I'm not sure about however is how to determine and set the absolute dimensions of objects such as podium_rect.obj. In v9 it was possible to set an absolute scale for these kind of objects that matched the stage settings that were set (e.g. a stage height of 1 matched a object height of 1). In this new software the scale is set as a relative percentage that changes the scale of of the object itself, making it much more difficult to scale objects to realistic proportions.

This makes it very difficult to create for example a perfect cube, as the podium_rect.obj is non-square to begin with, so to make it a cube the X(%) and Z(%) must be set differently from the Y(%) to scale it appropriately. Is there perhaps a way in which absolute sizes could be entered for these objects that correspond to the size in meters that is used everywhere else in the 3DView? Thank you for your advice.

Hello,

Yes absolute dimensions for scaling is presently not possible.
We understand the problem.
We note that.
