Virtual Dimmers

Hello-

I'm excited now that off season is here to begin learning VII. Please expect that I will have a number of feature inquiries once I grasp the programs new approach.

One of the requested features from the previous platform and now will be my first inquiry is virtual dimmers for RGB fixtures that do no have a dimmer channel.

Was the feature incorporated into VII? If so, how is it accessed and setup?

Use Case:

Several of my shows utilize Chauvet 4bar tri/quad type fixtures with multiple heads. For some reason, Chauvet R&D did not build DMX profiles for the fixtures to include a dimmer channel for each POD (light head). I would like to use the generator for dimming FX between the various heads but to accomplish this, I would need to setup a single fixture as 5 fixtures and use a virtual dimmers for each pod. The first fixture would essential be a profile for keeping all the pods on at full intensity and the shutter off. Then, I would control the actual intensity of each light pod by controlling the RGB with a virtual dimmer after setting up the additional 4 fixtures as RGB fixtures with no dimmer and configuring a virtual dimmer.

Please let me know your thoughts on how I can accomplish this and if the features in VII are already there.

I've requested firmware updates from Chauvet but they do not seem to be interested in increasing the channel count of the 4Bar product lines to include dimmers for each light on the bar. This heavily restricts any capability with the Generator in Showxpress.
