Ableton Link Not Working

I'm running Ableton Live and The Lighting Controller on the same Mac. Ableton Link is functioning fine when connecting to other apps on my computer, but I get nothing when I try to connect to The Lighting Controller. I tried adding The Lighting Controller to the firewall permissions (allow incoming connections), but that didn't help, so I removed it. I can't seem to find what I'm doing wrong or what I need to change to allow the connection between the two applications. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Could you please confirm you proceed in the same order as explained in the manual (page 85) ?

Run first the DJ software and activate its « Ableton Link » function.
And run our software and press the button « Ableton Link ».
Then the BPM value in our software will show the BPM of the DJ software.
