Problem with a sound file (delay, wave form) [fixed]

Post by sebastian »

Good evening,
I have a problem with playback in the timeline. When I start the timeline, the light tracks are fine, but the music is delayed by 2-3 seconds. I use music in WAV format (PCM 16 bit, 44100 Hz, stereo). I know that the program has a different encoder than other audio software. I read about it on the forum, but I don't know how to fix it. Thank you.

Could you please send us the audio file + a ZIP of your lightshow via wetransfer ?
(viewtopic.php?t=101)
We will check that.

The problem persists in all light shows, even if I create a completely new one and only import music, the problem still persists:

I also used the first version of the software, where I used the timeline once and had the same problem.

You sent only the audio file without your lightshow, so we tested only the audio file, and it works ok here.

We suspect a Codec problem in your system.
We suggest you to install "K-Lite Codec pack": https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm .

Hello! :)
I am having the same issue i believe. I installed a Ubuntu equivalent of the codec and I am still having issues. I noticed in the console it said "

Code: Select all

Failed to initialize QMediaPlayer "Not available"
TimeLine::loadWaveForm : m_audioDecoding timeout
" when I tried importing the .wav file. The wave form is still not showing up nor is it playing. I hope this helps.

If we right understand, these problems (wave file not visible and error message) are with the file stored here: https://we.tl/t-F4X9a7Gm5f (?)

FYI, no problem with this file here on our Debian system, and Debian is quite close to Ubuntu.
We will however investigate based on possible differences.

I installed https://www.codecguide.com/configuratio ... rsion=1930 and the problem is solved. It works perfectly for all songs, regardless of type.

Thank you very much. :D
